How did I go from teaching high school French to having my own preschool? Two words: Willow and Echo (shown on home page). I simply wanted my twin daughters to attend a wonderful, nurturing, stimulating French program. They, along with a handful of other children, made up my very first class in 2009.

AFTER SCHOOL FRENCH PROGRAMS
La petite école will run three terms throughout the school year, with Fall, Winter and Spring sessions. These lessons will be held after school. La petite école offers After School French language programs, which use innovated methods and cutting edge curriculum, such as the highly acclaimed Accelerative-Integrated Methodology (AIM), for which its creator received the Prime Minister’s Award for Teaching Excellence. High frequency vocabulary is taught in conjunction with gestures to maximize students’ speaking. Units are based around plays, which allow students to be actively involved in the learning. Moreover, students complete written activities that are progressively challenging and thus able to progress at their own pace.
HOLIDAY CAMP PROGRAMS
La petite école offers camp programs during the holiday breaks for Preschoolers as well as Grade School children. These programs typically incorporate French along with another subject, such as Les beaux arts (Art), or La cuisine (Cooking). The Holiday Camp Programs will be typically one week, from Mon-Fri, for 2.5 hours each class. Please email shannon@LaPetiteEcole.ca if you would like to be notified of the holiday schedules.
